Scope
Advanced materials are used in many high-tech industries, especially if are possessing multiple functional properties. There are applications that requires the material under the form of thin films, special coatings, or even as nanostructures. Examples ranges from thin film field effect transistors (TFT), flexible solar cells, molecular switches to antistatic and auto-cleaning coatings. Combination of thin films or nanostructures of materials with different functional properties may lead to new functionalities and applications. It results that in depth study of thin film and nanostructures of advanced functional materials is a key element for the advancement of science and technology, including future emerging technologies.
Topics
The section will focus on advanced functional thin films, coatings, nanostructures, multilayers, super-lattices covering topics such as:
This symposium intends to bring together scientists and engineers involved in various aspects of the synthesis, characterization, device integration and theoretical modeling of thin films and nanostructures with special emphasis on (multi)functional advanced materials.
