General information
The city is is situated on the seaside of Black Sea, has about 350000 inhabitants and is the commercial and administrative centre of the Constanta province (county), or "judetul" in Romanian. It is the third important town of Romania and during summer the population is doubled.

Constanta County is situated in the south-eastern extremity of Romania, being contiguous at the North to Tulcea County, East to the Black Sea, South to Bulgaria, and West to the Danube. 
The county, with an area of 707 square km, occupies the eight place among Romania’s counties, consisting of 3 cities, 8 towns and 52 communes. Constanta and Tulcea Counties form the Dobrogea Region.

Constanta municipality, the chief - town of the county with the same name is the most important industrial, commercial and cultural centre of Dobrogea. 

"Mihail Kogalniceanu"  international airport is 30 minutes by car north of the city. (28 km)

Constanta has always been a centre of ethnic and spiritual diversity, a pole of economic exchanges in the Black Sea region and in South-Eastern Europe.

A continuator of the ancient traditions of culture and civilization, the city benefits now from a rich spiritual life, numerous museums, and various modalities of entertainment.
