Hunters and fishermen will discover a new paradise, while seekers of authentic traditions and lifestyles, unchanged by modern influences, will not be disappointed.

BLACK SEA COAST

11 main resorts are spaced along the coast and tailored to suit most tastes and ages; the sandy sea bottom slopes gently away from the shore. The beaches face east, enjoying the best exposure to the morning sun. The most famous resorts are:

MAMAIA, designed for family vacations, situated on a beach between the Black Sea and the Siutghiol Lake.
EFORIE NORD/SUD, two resorts where therapeutic waters and mud of Tekirghiol Lake help visitors regain their strength.
COSTINESTI, conceived as an international holiday centre for students, features low cost accommodation and completely relaxed, informal atmosphere.
NEPTUN, OLIMP, CAP AURORA, VENUS are the newest resorts, popular for couples over 30 years.

MOUNTAIN RESORTS

Ski lovers would certainly enjoy a vacation spent in POIANA BRASOV, SINAIA, PREDEAL, BORSA or DURAU. Trekkers and hikers will discover the beauty of the Transylvanian Alps and many other spots unspoiled by modern civilization.

SPAS AND TREATMENT RESORTS Since ancient times, the actual territory of Romania was known for the therapeutical effect of its world famous mineral waters. BAILE HERCULANE (Hercules’s Spa) was used in times of the Roman Empire, some 1,800 years ago. Mud with astonishing healing properties, as well as treatments developed by Romanian specialists are used to improve the health of the visiting guests. Usual treatment lasts for two-three weeks, and is conducted under close medical supervision. Famous spas are the following, to mention just a few:

BAILE HERCULANE, for rheumatism, digestive disorders.
BAILE FELIX, hot springs for rheumatism, neurological and gynaecological problems.
COVASNA, treatment of cardio-vascular diseases.
SOVATA, treatment of gynaecological diseases.
OLANESTI, for persons with digestive, kidney and nutritional disorders, diabetes and obesity.
