5. Advances in surface science and engineering

Scope
The Surface Science Engineering symposium is focused on laser and plasma processing of new advanced materials requiring multidisciplinary approach and knowledge. This symposium will offer an interdisciplinary discussion forum about the state-of-the-art and future perspectives in the fundamental understanding and applications of laser and plasma on new advanced materials production, processing, diagnostics, and device fabrication. Laser based technologies, for example 3D laser direct writing of structures / devices and laser induced transfer of functional thin films / electronics, have a broad range of technical applications in nanotechnology, device fabrication for opto-electronics, photonics, biophotonics, sensing and biosensing.

Topics

This symposium will address all aspects of physics, chemistry, and engineering of laser-solid and plasma interactions with special consideration on PLD, MAPLE, LIFT, LIBS, DLW, LIPPS.
This symposium will consist of invited presentations by leading scientists in their respective fields of research and contributed papers for oral and poster presentations. Special emphasis will be made for presentations by young scientists presenting top achievements.
