RESEARCH STUDENT AWARD

granted by  the
ROMANIAN MATERIALS SCIENCE 
- CRYSTAL GROWTH SOCIETY 

ELIGIBILITY
To qualify for "Research Student Award" offered by the Romanian Materials Science - Crystal Growth Society in the frame of ROCAM 2003 Conference, the applicant must be a registered graduate student whose thesis is closely related to one of the section topics addressed in this conference. The applicant (PhD student or master student at the date of the conference) must be the author or co-author of a paper accepted for presentation in the conference. He or she has to have a significant contribution to the presented research results. The applicant must attend the conference and present the oral or poster contribution. The chairperson of the sections will consider 3 awards selected by vote.

PROCEDURE
Selection of the winners will be done in two steps:

First step: a group of Graduate Student finalists will be identified based on the award application.

Please include a short statement of the background for your work, a description of its aim and scope, any unique features of your approach, your specific contributions, and some significant results.
All finalists will be notified directly by the organizer.


Second step: all finalists will be required to give a ten minutes talk based on the conference paper at a special student presentation, at a date and place which will be announced by the chairperson. The selected winners will be announced during a formal plenary meeting in the evening of September 17, 2003.

AWARD BENEFITS
Each award will consist of 75-EURO cash prize and a diploma granted by the Romanian Materials Science -Crystal Growth Society.
