INTERNATIONAL AGREEMENTS TO WHICH ROMANIA IS A PARTY

The full integration of the country in the international trade flows and full membership status in the European regional and sub-regional arrangements are among the major goals of Romania's trade policy.

Romania is a member of the World Trade Organization (WTO), and takes part in all multilateral agreements within WTO.

As a member of the United Nations, Romania takes part in the following Inter-governmental organizations related to the UN:

- The World Bank

- The International Monetary Fund

- The United Nations Conference on Trade and Development

- The United Nations Industrial Development Organization

- The International Civil Aviation Organization

- The World Intellectual Property Organization

- The International Maritime Organization

- The International Telecommunication Union

- The Universal Postal Union

- The International Atomic Energy Agency

- The Food and Agricultural Organization

- The International Fund for Agricultural Development Romania is also a member of the Organization on Security and Co-operation in Europe and of the United Nations Economic Commission for Europe.

Free trade agreements were concluded between Romania and the central European countries - the Central European Free Trade Area (CEFTA) -, the Republic of Moldova and the Republic of Turkey. The Agreements provide for the abolition of all types of custom duties and quantitative restrictions on industrial export and import operations, rules of origin, the special cases of dumping and general safeguard.
